Early 20th century very heavy Damascene eastern Jewish ewer and basin. Inlaid in thick copper,brass and silver. Decorated with fish and foliage. Inscribed on each piece relevant Hebrew verses for washing of the hands on both Shabbat and Festivals, and relevant Hebrew verses taken from the blessings said on Friday nights. Circa 1920's. Height of ewer 25cm, Height of basin 10.5cm,Diameter of basin 16cm, Diameter of central piece centered with a Hamsa and water holes 21cm.
